The Simpsons

Published by smrtdrmmr at 10:35 pm under General Edit This

Are you a fan of cartoons?  I am.  I Love cartoons.  Like, really love them.  I have watched them for most all of my life.  I remember when I would wake up early on Saturday mornings (waking up early on weekends voluntarily!) to enjoy some quality animation.  If only Sundays could do me the same favor…

The Simpsons is a timeless series that I still enjoy to this day.  Sure, it has had some ups and downs as the writers would change over time, but in general it’s always been very entertaining.  The characters themselves don’t have much development, but the cleverness definitely exists in the topics that are discussed in any given episode.

I find it particularly brilliant how each episode will start in some way so that you think a given topic is the focus of the day, but then it will transition in some clever way into what the actual theme is for the show.  That’s got to be a challenge.  I appreciate stuff like that.

My favorite character?  You know, I really like Homer a lot, but I think Ralph Wiggum is my favorite.  “This tastes like burning” and “My cat’s breath smells like cat food” are hilariously simple but elegant catch phrases.  Amazing.

If you are a fan of The Simpsons, let me know and share your favorite character.
